NERPO SHOCKED BY THE PASSING OF ITS DOYEN

The Group Managing Director of the National Emergent Red Meat Producers' Organisation (NERPO) Mr. Aggrey Mahanjana has received with disbelief, the news of the passing of the organization's former national chairperson Mr. Victor Moarabi Moagi. Mr. Moagi succumbed to diabetes-related complications on Tuesday night. He was undoubtedly NERPO's longest-serving member and provincial leader in the North West Province.

"I am still in shock and disbelief about the passing of Mr. Moagi. I never thought death will one day rob us of a man of his caliber. He was an outstanding leader who served this organization with great zeal, loyalty and distinction. He was undoubtedly the face of NERPO in the North West province. On behalf of the National Executive Council, Management and Staff, I would like to extend our earnest condolences to his family, our members and all those affected by his passing." said a visible wounded Mahanjana.

Among a list of accolades of this doyen, he served as a NERPO Chairperson for two consecutive terms until he voluntarily stepped-down. He has played a pivotal role in mobilizing farmers into organized agriculture as he was also serving in the then structures of NAFU-SA.

At the time of his passing Mr. Moagi was serving as a Chairperson of NERPO in the North West province.

"He will definitely be remembered by many for the indelible mark he left as a farmer activist, an organizer and a leader with great integrity. All of us at NERPO could only be proud that we shared times and great moments with a man of his stature. He will always hold a special place in our hearts." mourned Mahanjana

Mr. Moagi's passing touched many of his fellow farmers. The office has been inundated with messages of support from his fellow farmers and leaders. Many have described him as "a true and selfless leader, an icon who fought for the interests of the farmers, at all costs. He was great brother, mentor, a friend and a comrade."

The Family is yet to announce funeral arrangements of the late Mr. Moagi.
